Everything that makes the Eclipse 270 Freestanding LED Awning the benchmark for 4WD shelter, now with one critical upgrade for rooftop tent owners. The Eclipse 270 Freestanding + RTT Entry adds an integrated zippered access hatch directly into the awning canopy, so you can climb in and out of your rooftop tent without ever stepping out from under cover. It's the same wind-tested, LED-equipped, freestanding shelter, built specifically for RTT setups.

Integrated RTT Entry Hatch

The defining feature of this awning is the purpose-built zippered access hatch cut directly into the canopy. When the awning is deployed alongside your rooftop tent, the hatch aligns with the tent's ladder entry point, creating a seamless sheltered connection between the awning and the tent. In rain, that means dry hands and feet as you climb in for the night. Available in LHS and RHS configurations to suit the side your rooftop tent ladder deploys from.

Australia's Only Wind-Tested Freestanding Awning

The Eclipse 270 Freestanding + RTT Entry carries the same wind rating as the standard Eclipse 270: rated to 30km/hr freestanding, backed by 30 days of real-world testing at DARCHE's Thomastown facility. In testing it held firm to 50km/hr on initial trials and to 55km/hr after repair. With poles deployed and properly pegged, the awning withstood gusts up to 90km/hr before pegs pulled from soft ground. No other freestanding awning on the market can show you that data. 11.5m² of Coverage, No Ground Poles Required

The freestanding design wraps 270 degrees of shelter from the side of your vehicle around to the rear, creating 11.5m² of shade and weather protection without cluttering the ground with support poles. Swing it out, extend the rafter arms, and you're under cover in minutes. Three support poles and guy ropes are included for use in stronger conditions, and with a compatible Gen 2 wall set attached, total coverage extends to 20.5m².

Dual-Colour Dimmable LED Lighting Built In

LED strips are fully integrated into the X-tube aluminium alloy rafter arms, so your campsite has light the moment the awning is open. Switch between warm amber and bright white and adjust the brightness to suit the mood. There's nothing to hang, no separate power cables to run, and nothing extra to pack.

X-Tube Aluminium Alloy Frame

The rafter arms use an X-tube aluminium alloy profile engineered for superior stiffness and load-bearing strength over standard round tube aluminium. The backing plate and hinges have been designed using advanced simulation techniques to ensure maximum structural integrity at every connection point, particularly where wind loading is highest at the tips of the extended arms.

Two-Piece Backing Plate for Easy Vehicle Transfer

A two-piece backing plate design allows the awning to be unbolted and moved to a different vehicle without a full reinstall. Whether you're switching rigs or lending the awning to another setup, the transfer process is straightforward. A fully enclosed transit cover protects the canopy from dust, mud, and trail debris between trips.

The Gen 2 270 Awning Walls zip directly onto the Eclipse 270 Freestanding frame, enclosing the sheltered area on all sides for complete weather protection.
